Dear AOL Journals user,
We’re sorry to inform you that on Oct. 31, 2008, AOL® Journals will be shut down permanently. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
It’s very important that you save your Journals content before the shutdown. We're working on a way to easily move your Journal to another blogging service -- you can expect an email within the next week with more details about how to do it. We want the transition to go as smoothly as possible for you, so you’ll have two choices. You can either save your information manually and find another place to blog on your own, or choose to automatically transfer your Journal to a different blogging service we’ve selected.
In the meantime, please bookmark the People Connection Blog, where you can find out more about AOL Journals. You can also subscribe to the People Connection Blog RSS feed to stay informed about any changes. We’ll be updating the People Connection Blog often, so please check it regularly.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we make this transition.
Sincerely,
The AOL Journals Team

Nike's Human Race on Sunday, August 31, 2008 with a goal of 1 million runner's on one day was featured a race organized by Tammy Heathco in Freeport, with a group run over the LL Bean 10K course @ 8am. The Group was to meet at Starbuck's in Freeport. Caffine and water was available prior to the run. There was a water stop at 3 miles. This was a group run, not a race.... All had a great time!!! The idea was to Celebrate the Human Race!

We had to post from the SD disk and not the CD#1 There might be some of the same photos on the CD#2 posting
Video to be posted soon
Well, Blaine Moore is so on top of things. Everyone should read his blog "Run to Win"
We note (Blaine Moore) reported the following:
"WCSH6 has full video coverage of the race, including 5 minute videos that show everybody coming across the line. I picked out my wife’s finish and you can clearly see her disgust with her time after she crosses the line and checked her watch. "
Now DCY writes:
I know I should have just broke it down into 5 minute blocks. Just how many people are going to watch all 5000+ finishers past by the 5 mile mark? Did I miss a runner? Yes, I missed a few as my tape was only 61 minutes long and I had to change tapes. I did not have a backup camera setup. I also did not wait until the last finisher past the five mile marker.

Does anyone have photos of the Freeport, Maine 2008 July 4th 10K race to share?
http://gallery.me.com/nicholas_yardy#100084
Okay, Nicholas Yard has stepped up to the plate and offer to share his photos. We will posts as many as we can here. There is a link above which might work for you too. Warning! We do not know how long Mr. Yardy will be willing to leave his LLBean 10K photo 2008 collection open to the public. If you need to see if he got a photo of you, you better take a look now!
Is there an other person you has photos of a video to share of this event?
