Howard Spear states "......There will be a few new things you might be interested in. First, professional photographers will be on hand to take pictures of the kids fun run and then the 5K. So 5k'ers, show you bib in front. Second, we have added a piper, a mom at that, and third, all mom's and potential mom's will receive a carnation at the end of the shute....."
Don Penta states he will get about 500 photos on Mother;s Day. Don Penta is the Maine Track Club photographer so please wear your MTC singlet and bib umber if you want your club picture taken. This year Don Penta has professional backup so it Don Penta does get your photo then you will have the option of buying one from a professional photographers. The interest in this race can now support more services.

David Colby Young was the overall winner of this race.
Started out in 10th place at the start and was in 3rd place biut shortly after the first mile moved into 1st place..
The 2nd place finisher help me stay on course for the first two miles telling me where to turn. Part of the course was not marked but many of turns had people with red flags.
Hello everyone. You all are off to a great start. We have had a great turn out, between 55- 67 individuals for the first three weeks.
I have been debating on what we will do next week for a workout, since EL and Lewsiton are having a track meet on Tuesday. They feel the meet will go until 6:30- 7:00pm.
What I would like to do is this. Rather than changing the venue to Auburn middle or Brand’s hill, because of ticks and other logistics is this.
Practice will be held from 6:00- 8:00 pm.
6:00-7:00 pm . Classroom meeting at Edward Little. “ Developing your Training Program.”
Many of you have been asking what to do to run your first marathon, what should you be doing to train for your 5k, what should I be doing on the off days?
I would like to take the opportunity to have some discussion with you on how to do this, please bring a pen.
“ I also realize that some of you have your own programs or have worked with me in the past and may feel that this is repitition. I understand if you are not there. Hearing it again or having time to ask questions, sneakers, nutrition, ect may also be something you can ask at this time.
7:00pm – 8:00 pm
Form Run – stretch
6 x 400 at level 4 with quarer lap active recovery.
10 x 100 yard striders – Beep drill you will love this.
6 surprise hill sets if we have time.
Hope to see you all.
Please respect the fact that there is a track meet going on and park accordingly.

I do not think we had an photojournalist at this event. If any member or friend of the Maine Track Club was there and is willing to send us a few photos we will can posted them.
The overall winner was Steve Postfontaine,
But when we looked for a photo we found:
come on people |
| ||
Bob Loblaw is the greatest name ever, i wish everyone ran under it. Good show too. And Steve Postfontaine shouldn't be getting so much hype. It's not original as i've probably heard it a million times. it was maybe half funny the first time, but not that great. |
