Rockland's Mothers Day 5K race

ROCKLAND — Jeffrey Sprague bested a field of 158 runners and walkers to win the 2007 edition of the annual Mother’s day race.

Sprague, of Rockland, finished the five kilometer (3.1 mile) course around Rockland in 16 minutes, 19 seconds. Rockland District High School senior Brandon Waltz was second at 17:48. Andrew Cavanaugh was third at 19:09.

Kasey Eaton was the first woman to cross the finish line at the train station with a time of 20:09. Eaton finished sixth overall.

The record time for the race is held by Ronald Frontin who won the 1993 race with a time of 15:48.
