With the tragic passing of Safe Passage founder Hanley Denning, we are expecting a huge turnout for this year's Safe Passage 5K on April 28, and race organizers have decided to use chip timing for the results. Nearly 600 people participated last year, helping to raise money for the Safe Passage organization.

MTC Track Work-outs Start

Hello Maine Track Club Members,

We will be having practice at the EL track tomorrow night at 5:45 to about 7:15pm. We will be on the track for our first workout and discussion on how peractice will go. Come prepared to work, bring your heart rate monitors or stop watches.

Please also make sure that you bring your warm ups before and after to wear so that you do not get cool.

Earth Day 5K at Orono, Maine

EARTH DAY 5K @ 11:00 a.m. at the University of Maine Fieldhouse. The Earth Day 5K is in conjunction with the annual H.O.P.E. Festival. The course is a flat 5K mostly on the University bike path. Registration starts at 10:00 a.m. at the Fieldhouse. $5. Prizes awarded at random. This is a low-key, simple, cheap, non-high tech race. For information, call Judd Esty-Kendall at 866-4048.
